{"id":1291,"date":"2016-01-19T15:23:36","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T14:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.amibroker.com\/kb\/?p=1291"},"modified":"2016-01-28T15:29:07","modified_gmt":"2016-01-28T14:29:07","slug":"how-to-hide-unused-categories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amibroker.com\/wordpress\/kb\/2016\/01\/19\/how-to-hide-unused-categories\/","title":{"rendered":"How to hide unused categories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AmiBroker categories offer 256 Markets, 256 Groups, 256 industries grouped within 64 sectors, plus unlimited number of watchlist (and support for other categorization standards such as ICB and GICS).<\/p><p>By default all markets, groups, sectors and industries are displayed, even if no symbol is assigned to them (so they are &#8220;empty&#8221;).<\/p><p><img src=\"\/\/www.amibroker.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/hid1.png\" alt=\"Hide categories\" \/><\/p><p>To avoid showing all the categories in <strong>Symbols<\/strong> window tree, we can use one of Hide empty markets\/groups\/sectors\/industries\/watchlists options available in the menu in Symbols window:<\/p><p><img src=\"\/\/www.amibroker.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/hid2.png\" alt=\"Hide categories\" \/><\/p><p>Now the list of categories shows only those, which contain at least one symbol and empty ones are omitted.
